Postecoglou odds to agree Brentford deal slashed dramatically as talks advance

Ange Postecoglou could be in line for a sensational return to the Premier League just weeks after he was sacked by Tottenham.

The Australian boss cut a divisive figure at times during his two-year stint in North London, but his triumph in the Europa League prompted many to feel that Daniel Levy’s decision to dismiss Postecoglou was a harsh one.

Spurs are now working towards naming Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their next appointment, which has seemingly opened the door for Postecoglou to make an immediate return to top-flight management.

He could be waiting in the wings to take over at Brentford when Tottenham’s move for Frank is finalised.

Postecoglou’s Brentford odds slashed as Tottenham in advanced Frank talks

Spurs’ managerial situation has drawn in several big names in recent weeks. Fulham’s Marco Silva was one of several men to be linked, as was former Tottenham hero Mauricio Pochettino.

However, the North London club are now rapidly honing in on securing the appointment of Frank as their next permanent boss.

Tottenham are understood to be in advanced talks with Frank, who seems set to become the next man to take the reins in N17.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Frank has had a knock-on effect for the Bees, who will already have one eye on potential candidates for when the Frank deal does go through.

The odds of Postecoglou taking over at the Gtech Community Stadium have been slashed to 10/1 by BetVictor Thursday (12 June), as the 59-year-old may be moving closer to securing his next job.

Postecoglou would be a good appointment for Brentford

As disappointing as this Premier League campaign was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it’s hard to suggest that Postecoglou would be anything but a good appointment for Brentford.

Frank’s Spurs tenure has been marred somewhat by a woeful domestic season this time around, but the former Celtic boss was dealt a tough hand with injuries throughout the campaign.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham record.

He has proven that he has what it takes to deliver an effective game plan when it matters most in the Europa League final, and his charisma and ability to motivate a squad will surely be hugely attractive for Brentford.

The West London side have always been an ambitious club, and bringing in Postecoglou would certainly be a statement of intent that they intend to keep progressing.
