Postecoglou makes ‘logical’ Hojbjerg admission with Bissouma unavailable for Spurs v Fulham
Ange Postecoglou has described Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as the “logical” option to replace Yves Bissouma when Tottenham host Fulham in the Premier League on Monday 23 October.
Spurs will be without Bissouma, who has so far started every league game for Tottenham this season, with the Mali international serving a one-match suspension after he was sent off during the 1-0 win at Luton Town.
During his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou spoke about how much thought he had given to replacing Bissouma, in quotes reported by Football London (20 October).

“We’ve got some options, certainly Pierre is a ready-made replacement, he’s been training really hard, and he’s obviously probably wanted to be playing more because he’s pretty much been a constant for the last two/three years,” he said.
“But when he has come on for us he’s done really well, for me he’s the logical one to come in but we’ve got a couple of sessions to go.”
Alan Hutton spoke to Tottenham News about Postecoglou replacing Bissouma:
“You’ve got the likes of Oliver Skipp, who the manager has played in the past. He can trust him and it will be an interesting one as I think he likes that solid base.
“Who is going to come in, we will have to wait and see.

“Pape Matar Sarr has done excellent, Bissouma has come onto a real game and they’ve been the mainstays moving forward.
“I just believe it is an opportunity. You never want to see anyone get injured or suspended, but it brings up an opportunity for someone else, so we will wait and see.”
