‘Postecoglou is gone’: Jamie O’Hara reacts to Tottenham sack news
Ange Postecoglou is clinging on to his job at Tottenham by the smallest of threads.
The Australian has endured a dismal campaign with Spurs as his side has fallen to 16th in the Premier League and been eliminated from both domestic cups.
Their only chance of ending a 17-year trophy drought is the Europa League but even that may not be enough to save the ex-Celtic man.

O’Hara reacts to Postecoglou sack update
Postecoglou could leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium even if he guides them to European success due to toxic atmosphere that he has presided over and arguably contributed to.
Former Spurs ace Jamie O’Hara believes that the 59-year-old cannot stay in his role next season due to the domestic results being so poor.
Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: “I think Ange Postecoglou is gone, even if Tottenham win the Europa League, I like Ange, but you can’t stay in the job with 19 losses in a season, assuming they’ll get beaten at Anfield.
“The manner in the defeats in the Premier League is why I think he’ll go. The mentality just isn’t right, and I don’t think it’ll change if he stays next season.
“If he wins Spurs the Europa League, Ange will argue that he’s done what no one has been able to do in the last 20 years by winning a European trophy but the Premier League is where it’s at, week-in week-out football.
“Season ticket holders pay the money to watch Spurs play at home in the league, Tottenham have a great chance of winning a European trophy, but I wouldn’t say it’s been an Ange-masterclass up until this point; they’ve played bang-average teams. We’ll see, but I can’t see him staying.”

Postecoglou is a dead-man walking at Tottenham
It has been a truly miserable campaign in North London and while injuries have played their part, it ultimately falls on the Australian.
His intense training methods and refusal to adapt his tactical philosophy have only served to exacerbate the issue, rather than mitigate it.
Premier League | Played | GD | Points |
15. Wolves | 33 | -13 | 38 |
16. Tottenham | 33 | +10 | 37 |
17. West Ham | 33 | -18 | 36 |
The former Australia defender has constantly clashed with supporters as tensions have boiled over and this was evident as he cupped his ears to the away fans in the 1-0 loss to Chelsea (3 April).
Once a manager loses the fans, there is usually no way back and they find themselves out of a job shortly afterwards and it would not be a surprise if that happened to the beleaguered Spurs man.
To add to Postecoglou’s woes, he has also lost several high-profile players including James Maddison, according to reports, and that is usually a sign that it is the end of a reign in the dugout.
Daniel Levy has a hard decision to make on his future, especially if the current incumbent wins the Lilywhites a trophy for the first time since the League Cup in 2008.
However, O’Hara is right, judging by the overall performance of the season, it would be the correct decision to send him on his way and move on, even if it is a little harsh.
