Postecoglou condemned over what he did to Bergvall as Tottenham footage emerges
Ange Postecoglou landed himself in further hot water as Tottenham fell to another defeat this season.
The Australian is under heavy pressure, with the Europa League now the make-or-break factor for Postecoglou in North London after a dismal season.
Spurs fell to their 16th defeat in 30 league games as they were beaten away at bitter rivals Chelsea, and Postecoglou again clashed with the travelling support.
Pape Matar Sarr had a goal disallowed after coming on as a substitute for Lucas Bergvall, and the decision to withdraw the youngster has now been slammed.
Footage emerged of Postecoglou gesturing towards the away end after Sarr found the back of the net, but the goal was later disallowed.

Jamie O’Hara slams Postecoglou over Bergvall substitution
Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, former Spurs midfielder and pundit Jamie O’Hara slammed Postecoglou for the decision to withdraw Bergvall, and his reaction after Sarr thought he had levelled the scoring.
“Ange Postecoglou is really struggling,” he said. “I get the fact that he’s frustrated but you can’t be cupping your ear to the fans – to make it worse it got chalked off! You can’t be doing that as the manager,” O’Hara stated.
“The fans will be frustrated, Lucas Bergvall has been a good player for Tottenham and Pape Sarr hasn’t had the greatest season, but he brings energy. It’s a like-for-like swap but he can’t win, whatever change he makes I think they’ll boo him. Bergvall has been a shining light, but you can’t do that to the fans.
“Whether you think they’re wrong or not, they’re paying money, they’re travelling all over the country to support you. You’ve lost 16 games this season, you cannot have the arrogance to stand there and do that over your subs being booed. He can’t get away with it.
Spurs have now lost all four of their key London derby games against Arsenal and Chelsea this season, and O’Hara called out Postecoglou for this poor record.
Spurs vs Chelsea | Played | Lost | Goals | Conceded | Points |
Ange Postecoglou | 4 | 4 | 4 | 11 | 0 |
“Everyone in London wants to beat Tottenham, they’re Arsenal’s and Chelsea’s cup final. There is an agenda against them, the ‘Spursy’ way but they are the only ones that can change it! Accept it, deal with it and change the narrative, that’s what Ange was supposed to do,” he added.
“Install a DNA into the football club and start winning. He can’t say that there is an agenda against the football club and himself when you’ve lost 16 games in a season. 48 years ago, was the last time that happened, he isn’t being backed into a corner, he just hasn’t been good enough.
“He was supposed to come in and make a difference and he hasn’t, simple as.”

Postecoglou’s disastrous key London derby record at Spurs
A lot has gone wrong for Postecoglou since he arrived at Spurs in the summer of 2023, but one of the worst parts about his tenure has been his record against the club’s key rivals.
Spurs have lost three of their four North London derby matches against Arsenal under Postecoglou, and all four of their matches against Chelsea.
Tottenham have also won just one of their three matches against West Ham, and were beaten in their last trip to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Spurs have lost a lot of games under Postecoglou, but losing these derby matches is an even bigger frustration for fans, and his antics on the touchline will have done him no favours, especially given the result at Stamford Bridge.
