Pochettino odds shift drastically in major next Tottenham manager twist
Tottenham’s managerial situation is still unclear, with Mauricio Pochettino linked with a return to North London.
Ange Postecoglou has just led Spurs to the Europa League title, their first trophy in 17 years, and may have just saved his job in the process.
With Tottenham 17th in the Premier League, Postecoglou was under huge pressure to deliver the trophy to rescue what was otherwise a miserable season, and could have been sacked if they lost to Manchester United.
Postecoglou’s future is still yet to be decided, but there is now a clear indication that he may stay at Tottenham beyond the end of this season.

Pochettino to Tottenham odds increase after Europa League victory
Pochettino was linked with a return to Tottenham earlier this season as their league form faltered, but this now seems unlikely.
As per Bet365, Pochettino’s odds of joining Tottenham have now dropped to 10/1, while frontrunner Thomas Frank has dropped to 3/1 in terms of becoming their next manager.
Europa League final | Goals | Shots | xG | Possession |
Tottenham | 1 | 3 | 1.01 | 27% |
Odds have increased across the board for several managers to replace Postecoglou, and this indicates that his success may keep him at the club for another season.
Many may now be content with this, given both the victory in Bilbao, as well as the manner of the performance.

Postecoglou shows adaptability in Europa League win
One of the biggest complaints over the course of the season was that Postecoglou was not adaptable enough, but the Europa League run saw him adapt his style to a more defensive one.
Man United had more possession and shots than Spurs in the final, but they defended resolutely and kept their first clean sheet against an English side since facing Man United in February.
If he can carry this adaptability into the Premier League next season, Spurs could have a much-improved campaign, and this Europa League could end up being the foundation for more success under Postecoglou next season.
However, if Spurs do not start next season well, Postecoglou may have less credit in the bank than other trophy-winning managers, given the poor league form in this campaign, and quick improvements will be needed.
