Pedro Porro has already warned Thomas Frank of problem he could face at Tottenham
Thomas Frank has been issued with a stark warning about a problem that he could face at Tottenham.
The Dane has only been in the job for a matter of months, but he will have to quickly learn the way that things work at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, despite a bright start to the new campaign.
Spurs have been well-backed by Daniel Levy in the transfer market, and the emphasis is now firmly on the new boss to have the team competing at the top end of the table as quickly as possible.
The Lilywhites had a dismal campaign in the Premier League last time out, and Pedro Porro has just handed the new manager a key piece of guidance to ensure that a similar issue doesn’t plague them again.

Pedro Porro highlights major Ange Postecoglou issue at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou lost his job at Tottenham at the end of last season, despite their eventual triumph in the Europa League.
The Australian delivered the North Londoners’ first major trophy in 17 years, but his side also notched the club’s lowest top-flight points tally since the 1976/77 season.
- Postecoglou led Spurs to a 17th placed finish last term, with just 38 points
- They secured Champions League football with their eventual Europa League win
- Postecoglou had a win percentage of just 46.53% during his time in charge
It was that league form that ultimately spelt the end for the 60-year-old, and Porro, a key member of his squad, has now spoken out regarding the major issue that plagued their domestic campaign.
The Spanish right-back has given a candid insight into the feelings from within the camp last term, but his statements also serve as a clear reminder to Frank that he cannot suffer the same fate.
Speaking in an interview with Spanish newspaper ABC, Porro revealed that Spurs felt like they were two separate teams across their continental and domestic action in 2024/25.
“We had a very difficult year in the league for many factors,” the 25-year-old said.
“We didn’t compete like you have to compete, because I saw two different teams, one in the Premier League, and the other in the Europa League. In the Europa League we knew how to compete well, and it paid off.
“But when you don’t compete in a competition like the Premier League, where you have to be at 200% every game, it’s hard for you.”

Daniel Levy has readily equipped Thomas Frank
There can be no doubting Levy’s financial commitment at Tottenham this summer, given the investment that has been made in the squad.
The duo of Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons are big signings for the Lilywhites, and they also came at a significant financial outlay.
With eight new additions in their ranks, the squad depth is certainly strong enough to allow them to compete effectively in multiple competitions.
Postecoglou had to deal with countless injury issues last time out, but unless Frank suffers the same ill fate, then it should be no problem for him to manage the squad sensibly this term.
Porro’s suggestion is certainly a fair one, but if the same issues hamper Spurs again this season, then surely more blame will have to fall at the door of the players.
