Pedro Porro destroyed as Spain fans have had enough of Tottenham star – ‘Terrible’
Tottenham defender Pedro Porro has been a shadow of his former self this season.
Despite that, the right-back was handed a start by Luis de la Fuente in Spain’s Nations League quarter-final against the Netherlands on Thursday.
The Tottenham defender has been the preferred right-back for Spain in the absence of Dani Carvajal as Real Madrid continue to work on his recovery following an ACL injury.
La Roja were held to a 2-2 draw against the Dutch, with Porro tormented consistently by Liverpool star Cody Gakpo on the international stage.

Porro destroyed away from Tottenham
Spain had the perfect start as they took the lead via Nico Williams in the ninth minute, but that didn’t last long as Gakpo was able to equalise.
Justin Kluivert made a precise pass in Gakpo’s path, who took a touch and finished as Porro allowed him far too much space to pick his spot and find it with ease.
Porro’s error in defending cost Spain as the Dutch side later went on to take the lead, with the former Sporting defender having an abysmal first half and was rightly criticised by Spanish fans.
Taking to X, one fan labelled Porro as “Terrible” while another supporter called Porro’s defending “very poor.”

Spain need to bounce back in the return leg
With the aggregate tied at 2-2 after the first leg, Spain cannot afford any slip-ups in the return fixture.
De la Fuente will need to make harsh decisions for the second leg of the Nations League quarter-finals, and Porro could find himself a victim of that after another night to forget this season.
The 25-year-old has had a similar subpar season with Spurs, with Tottenham struggling to secure desired results on the pitch, players like Porro have failed to impress.
While he has been decent going forward, his defensive solidity is what exposes his game and makes him vulnerable against quality attackers. That is what happened against Gakpo and has happened numerous times in the Premier League.
The former Sporting star has Ange Postecoglou‘s confidence, but his performances in the backline need to improve.
