Nottingham Forest ‘fire shot at Tottenham’ as Gibbs-White stand-off continues

Tottenham are trying to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, but the deal has become complicated.

Spurs thought they had quickly wrapped up a masterclass of a signing when they activated his release clause, but Forest are now taking legal action as a result.

Gibbs-White has been outstanding under Nuno Espirito Santo, and as Forest’s captain, they are not willing to let him leave without a fight.

More developments are set to follow in the coming days as Tottenham aim to secure the £60 million deal, but Forest have now fired a shot at the Lilywhites on social media.

Forest drop Gibbs-White hint on social media

With Forest’s players returning to pre-season training ahead of the next Premier League season, they are clearly determined to keep Gibbs-White.

Forest’s X account has now placed the midfielder front and centre as they welcomed their players back to training, and this did not go unnoticed on social media.

Forest are unhappy with Tottenham’s pursuit of the 25-year-old, but it remains to be seen whether they have a leg to stand on, given that his release clause was activated.

Tottenham calm over Gibbs-White situation

Despite Forest’s anger, there has been little coming out of Tottenham to suggest that they are anything other than relaxed about the situation, with the expectation that the deal goes ahead.

Evangelos Marinakis is reportedly angry at Gibbs-White’s decision to move, but convincing him to join has been a masterstroke from Tottenham.

There is a lot of ambition being shown this summer, with Mohammed Kudus also arriving in a big-money deal, and the Lilywhites are not yet panicked as they hope the Forest star will follow him in.

The England international has been outstanding for Forest, and could be a strong addition for Thomas Frank’s side ahead of next season.

It is clear that Frank wants speed, strength and agility in his side, and both Kudus and the Forest captain will be ready to make an instant impact having previously excelled in the Premier League.
