Michael McIntyre shares news he’s heard coming out of Tottenham

Michael McIntyre has shared that he’s heard some of the Tottenham players who are ruled out for the game against Newcastle United will not return until after January.

The likes of Fraser Forster, Radu Dragusin, Archie Gray and James Maddison all supposedly missed training due to an illness bug that’s ravaging its way through Spurs’ squad [Spurs ITK hub on X, 3 January].

Ange Postecoglou’s men are set to face the Magpies on Saturday (4 January) in what is set to be a rather patched-together squad.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (3 January, 18:24pm) McIntyre shared what he heard about the fitness of Spurs’ squad.

“I’ve just heard some of these players are out for the rest of the month,” he said.

Tottenham need to get lucky against Newcastle United

The 2024/25 season has been one that Spurs fans will likely want to forget as soon as possible – in terms of their Premier League form, at least.

Postecoglou’s men currently sit 11th in the Premier League and it feels like it’s going to be fairly difficult to break out of mid-table mediocrity this term.

Granted, the amount of injuries they’ve suffered will have no doubt had a lot to do with the way things have gone for them this term, but it’s still surprising how poor they’ve been.

Now that the January transfer window is open, it feels like Tottenham and Daniel Levy would be silly not to at least look at bringing in some new faces to bolster their defensive ranks.

At the moment, it feels like Postecoglou’s time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be coming to an end in the near future.

And, with the form that Newcastle find themselves in at the moment, it’ll be a massive shock if Eddie Howe’s men don’t end the game with all three points.

As for the injured players, the sooner they get back to full fitness, the better.

In other Tottenham news, one player has spoken out about Postecoglou in a new interview after a sack claim was made.
