Mauricio Pochettino approach update after Tottenham talks held
Tottenham are currently hunting for a replacement for Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham sacked Postecoglou on Friday (6 June), despite the Australian ending Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought, after winning the UEFA Europa League.
Spurs’ worst-ever Premier League campaign, which saw the North London club finish 17th with 38 points, was too much for Daniel Levy to ignore.
Now, an update has emerged on Spurs’ hunt for a new manager, as Mauricio Pochettino’s name resurfaces.

Tottenham hold internal talks about appointing Pochettino
Pochettino led Tottenham during one of the most successful periods in the Lilywhites’ recent history.
The Argentine turned the North London club into title-challengers and guided them to a UEFA Champions League final across five years at the club.

Now that Postecoglou has been sacked, Sami Mokbel reported via BBC Sport on Friday (6 June) that Tottenham have discussed bringing Pochettino back to N17.
However, as reported by The Telegraph (7 June), it is understood that as of Friday, no approach has been made for Pochettino.
No final decision has been made on who will replace Postecoglou as head coach next season.
Thomas Frank emerges as Spurs’ frontrunner
Frank is the leading contender to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham.
The Dane joined Brentford as assistant head coach in December 2016 under Dean Smith. He was later promoted to head coach after Smith joined Aston Villa in October 2018. He has since established the Bees as a mid-table Premier League side.
Frank has changed his approach over the years from a possession-based style to counter-attacking before settling on an intense press.
His willingness to adapt could provide a nice change from Postecoglou, who was often criticised for his refusal to concede his ultra-attacking style when under pressure in the Premier League.
But Tottenham will need to announce the new head coach soon if they want to make a strong impact in the summer transfer window.
