Manor Solomon to be announced by Tottenham today – Fabrizio Romano
Former Fulham winger Manor Solomon is set to be announced by Tottenham today as the Israeli joins on a free transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Solomon will join Spurs today, with the documents signed and a medical completed on Monday, and the deal will be announced officially by the club later on, Romano shares.
Solomon is free to join Tottenham this summer after his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk expired at the end of June, despite his former club’s anger at FIFA rules allowing foreign players in Ukraine to suspend their contracts following Russia’s invasion [Sky Sports, 2 July].

This is a risk-free deal for Spurs
This is a very smart signing by Tottenham, bringing in strength in depth on the wing for free. It is likely Solomon will play second-fiddle to Son Heung-min, making most of his appearances from the bench as he did for Fulham.
If he isn’t successful with Spurs, they should still be able to move him on for a fee in the future, almost guaranteeing profit for the North London club regardless of the success of the deal.
The full details of this deal are still to emerge, with his former club unhappy over the FIFA rulings regarding foreign player contracts, as they feel they are missing out on transfer fees.

Solomon spent last season on loan at Fulham, scoring four goals in 19 appearances for the club mostly from the bench, and attracted interest from Tottenham among other clubs including Premier League duo West Ham and Aston Villa.
The player arrives in North London with his reputation at its peak, after his agent admitted he wanted to stay in the Premier League with a top team, and Spurs were able to capitalise on his desire.
In other Tottenham news, the club are in talks over a deal for a new defender.
