Manchester City star reacts to what Djed Spence did in Tottenham win v Ipswich

Djed Spence was so good for Tottenham in their 4-1 win against Ipswich on Saturday that a Manchester City star could not resist reacting despite playing Liverpool the next day.

Tottenham cruised to a win against Ipswich at Portman Road in the Premier League on 22 February, with Brennan Johnson bagging a brace and Spence and Dejan Kulusevski scoring a goal each.

Although Johnson netted twice, Spence was named as Spurs’ man of the match after he found the back of the net for the first time in the Premier League.

The right-back has been developing into a key player for Ange Postecoglou in recent weeks, helping the team keep clean sheets against Brentford and Manchester United before scoring at Ipswich in three consecutive games.

Jeremy Doku reacts as Kulusevski chimes in

Spence later took to social media to express his delight at scoring his first Premier League goal.

“I’m coming for everything”, he wrote on Instagram (22 February) along with a lion emoji.

Teammates Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro were quick to tip their hats to Spence, while he also stimulated a reaction from Jeremy Doku of Manchester City.

The winger, who knows the 24-year-old from their time together at Rennes, reacted to the post with two smiling face with hearts emojis.

Spence numbers in Tottenham win v Ipswich

Apart from scoring a goal, Spence played the full 90 minutes and completed 45 of his 52 passes (87 per cent), with five of them played into the final third, according to FotMob.

The full-back also registered 71 touches, with two of them coming in the opposition box. He boasted a 100 per cent dribble success rate, completing both of his attempts while winning two free kicks for his team.

Spence made five recoveries, as well as a clearance and interception each. Furthermore, he won five of his seven ground duels with 71 per cent success.

Having helped Tottenham win three Premier League games in a row, he will be determined to help them extend their streak when they a struggling Manchester City side at home on Wednesday, 26 February.
