Manchester City goalkeeper to join Tottenham with welcome message sent

Tottenham are set to raid Manchester City for their next signing.

The Lilywhites were hit for six by the news that promising talent Dexter Oliver will join Pep Guardiola’s side, but it seems that they have gotten their revenge.

Tottenham have already signed the likes of Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso after their loan spells finished, and look set to add Japanese defender Kota Takai into the mix.

Now, Thomas Frank‘s side are set for another under-the-radar signing.

Tottenham set to sign City youth gem

Daniel Levy and Co have not made many major moves in the market right now, but they have sealed a top-quality youth player for the future.

Lilywhite Rose has reported via Instagram (30 June) that City goalkeeper Farren Doran is set to join Spurs as part of this year’s scholarship intake.

The renowned North London insider sent a message to the new addition, saying: “Welcome.”

Tottenham set to continue youth revolution

Ange Postecoglou gave chances to numerous Spurs youth talents last season, including the likes of Damola Ajayi and Callum Olusesi.

He also turned Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall into key members of his squad as injuries decimated his starting line-up.

Spurs are set to add highly-rated Celtic youngster Conall Glancy to their youth set-up, and have already signed Daniel Batty and Luca Furnell-Gill from Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Lilywhites were also interested in Southampton youngster Harley Emsden-James, but he chose to join Manchester United instead.

The Europa League winners can offer a clear pathway to the first team fold that many other top sides cannot; however, whether Frank maintains that tradition remains to be seen, but it would be wise to do so given how they fared last season.

Supporters may be frustrated as they would rather have signings that can transform their fortunes immediately; however, stockpiling the best talents in the country is never a bad idea.

It should set Tottenham up for further success in the future, if a few of the youngsters they sign eventually make it to the senior side and star, whether that is under Frank or a new man, we will have to wait to find out.
