Man United sources shocked as INEOS wield axe after Europa League loss v Tottenham

Tottenham’s Europa League final victory could have rippling effects across the Premier League.

Despite Spurs’ awful Premier League campaign, their season has now been saved thanks to Wednesday’s victory.

Brennan Johnson netted the only goal of the game to end Tottenham’s 17-year wait for a trophy.

The effects of the result could be massive at the London club, with there now being calls for Ange Postecoglou to stay at Spurs

Man United set for more staff redundancies after Europa League final defeat

While Wednesday’s victory will be an iconic day in Tottenham’s history, it could have a disastrous effect on their opponents.

Man United were awful in Bilbao and created little to nothing throughout the match.

This is now a common trend at the Red Devils, with their campaign now being one of the worst in their history.

However, the financial implications of the Europa League defeat could be catastrophic as the Manchester club missed out on Europe for the first time in over a decade.

According to the Daily Mail (23 May), Man United have told 200 staff members they are at risk of redundancy after the final loss.

Sources have expressed their “surprise” at the move, considering how quickly it came after the defeat.

It is not known if INEOS will plan more cuts to the workforce, but morale is said to be low.

Tottenham must build on Europa League victory to avoid becoming the next Man United

Spurs’ Europa League victory was the ultimate get-out-of-jail card as the season will now be viewed as a success.

However, the London club has to now build on this achievement and cannot repeat the same mistakes.

If they do, they could end up being the next Man United, a club which is in absolute turmoil.

Hopefully, a big summer transfer window fixes many of the squad’s issues as they look to return to the Premier League’s top six.
