Lucas Bergvall joins part of Tottenham history with feat against West Ham

Tottenham bounced back with a big win against West Ham on Saturday.

Spurs thrashed West Ham 3-0 at the London Stadium to make it three wins from four in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank’s side moved up to second in the table with the win, level on points with North London rivals Arsenal.

Spurs recovered from an early VAR decision against them to rally and secure all three points, continuing their good start to the campaign.

It was the perfect response to their previous defeat to Bournemouth, and Spurs can now look ahead to the Champions League in midweek.

Lucas Bergvall puts himself in Tottenham’s history books

Lucas Bergvall was one of the bright sparks in a difficult campaign last season, where Spurs finished 17th.

He seemed to have carried his form into this season and grabbed his first goal of the campaign against West Ham, looping a header home.

Alongside assisting Micky van de Ven, Bergvall became a part of Tottenham history, doing something that hadn’t been achieved since 1992.

The Swede became the second youngest player to both score and assist a goal in a Premier League game for Tottenham (19y 223d) after Nick Barmby against Nottingham Forest in December 1992 (18y 321d).

Bergvall is highly thought of at Tottenham, and his performances are really starting to make an impact on the stat sheet.

The teenager’s form could indicate how important he could be for Frank in his first year in charge.

Thomas Frank to help unleash Lucas Bergvall

Tottenham have been linked with a host of midfielders as Frank looks to put his own imprint on the squad.

In Bergvall, though, he may have the perfect player for years to come at the heart of the midfield.

His ability to get up and down the pitch, paired with the attacking talent and an eye for a goal, can help him become a complete midfielder.

Frank has options in midfield now, but in Bergvall, he has a unique talent who will surely reach higher levels in the years to come.

The Swede can now kick on and establish himself as one of the best all-around midfielders in the Premier League.
