Levy to take step back at Tottenham as sources issue behind-the-scenes hire news
Daniel Levy is looking to hand over certain responsibilities as news of a Tottenham hire emerges.
Levy’s name has been synonymous with Tottenham for almost a quarter of a century, though it has not always been smooth sailing.
Earlier this season, the Lilywhites were protesting against the 63-year-old before multiple games, though the UEFA Europa League victory against Manchester United in Bilbao (21 May) has eased some tension for now.
The work Levy has done on the business front, particularly in building Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, has been remarkable. However, the chairman’s footballing decisions have not been as astute.
Fans have clamoured for Levy to hand over the football operations to someone better educated on the matter, and will be pleased to hear the latest news that may see their wishes come true.

Fabio Paratici to make Tottenham return
Paratici’s return to Spurs has looked likely from the moment the duration of his ban was announced.
The Italian football director was brought to North London in June 2021, but was forced to leave less than two years later.
In his short spell, he oversaw an overhaul of players who remain key figures at Tottenham.
Player Name | Date Signed | Club Signed From | Appearances for Spurs |
Dejan Kulusevski | January 2023 | Juventus | 146 |
Cristian Romero | August 2021 | Atalanta | 124 |
Rodrigo Bentancur | January 2023 | Juventus | 113 |
Pape Matar Sarr | August 2021 | Metz | 104 |
Yves Bissouma | June 2022 | Brighton and Hove Albion | 100 |
The former Juventus managing director has emanated a looming influence ever since he officially left, and according to a report from Football London (30 May), sources within the club believe his return is imminent.
Paratici is a rare, trusted ally of Levy’s and is said to have taken some of the burden off his employer’s shoulders in his first spell at Tottenham.
He is expected to work closely alongside Vinai Venkatesham, who himself is set to start in the coming days, to further distance the Spurs supremo from footballing operations.

Levy still has a lot of work to do at Spurs
The presence of others, such as Paratici, will not absolve Levy of all responsibilities, nor hide him from fan expectations.
A 17th-place finish in the Premier League is only tolerated due to Tottenham’s successful European run, but a similar season cannot happen again.
Levy will ultimately be judged on the club’s results, and has Ange Postecoglou’s future, a large summer transfer window, and boardroom decisions to make first, before the jury on next season can begin.
