Levy to act fast for Tottenham new manager as contract offer made
Daniel Levy could still be on the lookout for a new manager to replace Ange Postecoglou, despite him bringing the Europa League home.
Levy has been sounding out managers to replace the Australian on the back of a historically poor league campaign that has seen them drop to one place above the relegation zone.
The deep run in the Europa League had delayed the decision, which ultimately paid off as Postecoglou delivered the North Londoners their first trophy in 17 years.
With just their home game against Brighton (25 May) to come before the end of the season, Levy is facing one of his biggest decisions yet.

Al-Ahli made an offer to Spurs target Xavi
Tottenham’s European exploits have not only added a significant boost to their finances, but they have also brought the allure of Champions League football back to North London.
The development is thought to have piqued Xavi’s interest in the role. However, Spurs will have to act fast if they are to secure the Catalans’ services.
According to Foot Mercato (24 May), Xavi has already been approached by Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli with a formal contract offer.
| Club | Played | Wins | Draws | Losses | Win Percentage |
| Al Sadd | 102 | 67 | 17 | 18 | 65.7% |
| Barcelona | 142 | 89 | 24 | 29 | 62.68 |
The World Cup winner is heralded in the Middle East, having already worked in neighbouring Qatar with Al Sadd, where he won a league title as both a player and manager.
He then moved back to coach boyhood club Barcelona, where he guided them to the La Liga title before leaving last summer.
His pedigree, both as a player and manager, is thought to have garnered Tottenham‘s admiration for quite some time.

Tottenham should continue on same trajectory
Postecoglou’s reign was always going to be judged after the Europa League campaign had concluded, and even with the victory, the jury is out.
Had he not delivered on his trophy promise, however, there were still signs of a positive direction which they should pursue, even if the Australian moves on.
They have focused on scouting youth, such as Lucas Bergvall, and are building a foundation of young players for the future.
Johan Lange has also modernised operational decisions in north London, shifting towards a more data-led approach.
This also meant Levy veered away from traditionally big-name managers in favour of one whose identity matched the club’s philosophy, which is something he should strive to continue doing.
Change is coming, Levy will decide just how big.
