Kudus rejected by Chelsea after strange request before Tottenham transfer
Mohammed Kudus is the new star in town at Tottenham.
It has been suggested that Chelsea were also in talks with West Ham over the Ghanaian, but pulled away after he made a strange request during negotiations.
Supposedly, that was what opened the door for Tottenham to complete their £55million signing, not that Thomas Frank and Daniel Levy were complaining.

Kudus makes strange transfer request already
Kudus was mostly used as a winger for West Ham last season, and that’s where he has shown the best form of his career.
However, according to journalist Simon Phillips, the 24-year-old told Chelsea he was keen to be used in the number 10 role just behind the striker.
Writing on his Si Phillips Talks Chelsea blog, he suggested that’s when the Blues lost interest.
Chelsea have their prodigal son, Cole Palmer, playing in that position, so they would be unable to guarantee Kudus a starting place there.
Still, it may lead to questions of where Frank plans to play his new star signing once the Premier League season kicks off.

Kudus could end up playing several positions for Tottenham
Tottenham will be expected to make several more signings before they begin their Premier League campaign on 16 August. The Spurs squad – and certainly the starting XI – could look very different to last season.
For this reason, it’s hard to predict where Frank is planning to use Kudus.
Appearances | Minutes Played | Goals | Assists |
35 | 2719 | 5 | 4 |
Logic suggests he’d want to start him in the position where he performed so well for West Ham last season.
At the same time, he has been targeting several wingers in this transfer window.
Mathys Tel has been signed permanently. Frank is desperate to tempt Bryan Mbeumo to North London. And Kudus has apparently told Chelsea he prefers to play in the centre. So, who knows what’s in store for him?
With such a long season ahead of them, there’s every chance that Frank takes advantage of Kudus’ versatility and plays him in several positions through the season.
Tottenham fans won’t care too deeply as long as the team delivers the goods.
