Jose Mourinho sets sights on reunion with Tottenham star Eric Dier – report
Serie A outfit Roma are interested in a January move for Tottenham defender Eric Dier, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian news outlet reported online (27 September) that due to a series of departures and injuries, Jose Mourinho’s side have some defensive concerns and could look to address them during the upcoming transfer window.
One player they have identified is Dier, whom Mourinho has a previous relationship with from his time managing Tottenham, which could help any potential deal move along.

The 29-year-old’s contract with the north London club expires next summer.
Ex-Spurs Scout Bryan King tells Tottenham News:
“To be honest, I have never been a great follower of Eric. He was first introduced to me when I was working at Everton, and he was up there on trial, although that move never materialised.
“He looked half decent when he was younger and I thought he was going to be a bit of a player but there always seems to be a mistake in him.

“I am not sure whether the manager fancies him so maybe a move for his international career might be a good thing. However, he is a squad player, so if you’re going to get rid of him, you have to bring in a player of similar quality.
“I don’t think he would be a great miss for me. He is a mistake waiting to happen.”
In other Tottenham news, the club would be wise not to renegotiate a deal with another Premier League rival.
