Jeff Stelling stunned by Tottenham’s transfer business as promising prediction made
Tottenham have ended the summer on the highest of highs after a difficult start.
The Lilywhites have come far from the countless rejections seen at the beginning of the transfer window.
Tottenham target Johnny Cardoso opted to sign for Atletico Madrid despite Spurs agreeing a reduced fee with Real Betis for this summer.
Morgan Gibbs-White extended at Nottingham Forest, while Tottenham suffered a humiliating blow when Eberechi Eze signed for Arsenal.
But there was a light at the end of the tunnel and it seems that Spurs’ future is brighter than ever.

Jeff Stelling believes Tottenham have had the best summer window
Tottenham kicked off the summer by signing Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso on permanent contracts.
Luka Vuskovic joined two years after Spurs signed him from Hajduk Split. Meanwhile, Kota Takai arrived from J-League side Kawasaki Frontale.
Mohammed Kudus signed for Tottenham from West Ham, becoming the first player to move between the two clubs since Scott Parker in 2011. Joao Palhinha arrived on loan from Bayern Munich while Xavi Simons was brought to compensate for Eze’s snub.
Randal Kolo Muani is Tottenham’s most recent signing in a window Jeff Selling believes is the best in the Premier League.
In a clip posted by talkSPORT via X on Tuesday, 2 September, he said: “They’ve lost Son. That’s pretty much it, Hojbjerg’s left and Moore’s gone on loan, but that’s pretty much it.
“Mohammed Kudus from West Ham paid a lot of money for him, but I do think he’s a good player. Xavi Simons, I like very much indeed. I think he’s going to be a terrific signing for them. Palhinha, we’ve already seen what a fantastic signing he could be.
“And they’ve brought in Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG. When I’ve seen him in the past, to be brutally honest, mainly for the French national side, I haven’t always been impressed. But he’s certainly got a pedigree. PSG on loan at Juventus, and they’ve brought him in as well.
“I just think numerically maybe down on some other clubs, but I think they’ve brought in quality. I see Spurs having a good season.”
Tottenham have the fourth highest net spend in the Premier League
While £55million for Kudus and £51.8m for Simons seems like good value for money, Tottenham have actually spent more than most Premier League clubs.
According to Sky Sports via X on 2 September, Spurs have spent £171.2m on transfers, including potential add-ons.
However, the Lilywhites have made £17m in sales this summer. This brings their total net spend to £154.2m.
Arsenal ranked the highest with a £257m net spend, while Liverpool came in second at £218.4m.
Therefore, while the North London club can be proud of their window. Sales is an area that still needs improvement.
