Jamie O’Hara baffled by what he’s heard about Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham as Thomas Frank sacked – ‘No way’

Ange Postecoglou has been backed for a spectacular return to Tottenham.

Tottenham could quite easily be relegated this season, and very few people seem to have accepted that as a genuine possibility.

A complete lack of home form is the main reason behind that, with Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat against Newcastle meaning they have now just won two of their 13 home games so far this season in the Premier League.

As a result, Thomas Frank has been sacked as Tottenham manager, and one suggestion for Postecoglou to replace him has been made.

Frank, Spurs record

Ange Postecoglou backed for Tottenham job

Postecoglou was sacked at Tottenham, having led them to a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League with just 38 points. The decision was warranted.

In the end, it saw Spurs finish 13 points above the drop zone, though there is every chance that the same points tally will see someone relegated this season.

And mainly due to the tactical flaws of Frank, who had his side winless in their last eight prior to his sack, it is quite possible that they aren’t even able to match that tally this time around.

Many wanted to see Frank sacked at Tottenham, and one fan, when calling into talkSPORT, stated that he would have Postecoglou back off the back of the Dane’s exit, much to the disbelief of Jamie O’Hara.

He replied, while shaking his head: “No, no, listen. Ange Postecoglou is not coming back to Tottenham, there’s no way in a million years.

“He was terrible in the Premier League. Tottenham have to stay in the Premier League.”

Thomas Frank has outdone Postecoglou’s failure at Tottenham

As mentioned above, Postecoglou’s sacking was fully warranted, and there were very few complaints to be had.

However, the Australian was averaging 1.53 points per game throughout his time in North London, which is signficantly higher than Frank’s 1.29.

But with the ambitions set by Spurs, neither of them showed or have showed enough to warrant the job at Tottenham, especially in the current situation.

Spurs need someone to come in and guarantee their survival, and Postecoglou simply wouldn’t be able to do that, as showcased by his time in England.

As for where Tottenham do turn now that Frank has departed, that remains to be seen, but it’s clear as day that they can’t go back to Postecoglou.
