Igor Tudor shares new injury update as double Tottenham boost now on cards
Igor Tudor is hopeful that two Tottenham players will be back from injury for their upcoming Premier League clash with Fulham.
Tottenham fell to a 4-1 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday to leave them 16th in the Premier League table, just four points above the relegation zone.
Tudor was always in for a tough task in his first Tottenham game in charge, but the manner of the defeat to the Gunners is, arguably, concerning.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium outfit does have a raft of injury concerns that have not helped, but the fact that they haven’t won in the league since 28 December suggests there are other problems, too.
However, interim boss Tudor said it is likely that two of his charges will be back for the trip to Craven Cottage on 1 March.
Who will be back fit for Tottenham soonest?
Tottenham have a troubling injury list as the Europa League holders, who breezed into the last 16 of the Champions League, try to preserve their Premier League status.
Playmakers Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison haven’t played at all this season, influential winger Mohammed Kudus is out for the foreseeable future, and Lucas Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur are on the sidelines, too.
Moreover, captain and centre-back Cristian Romero is currently suspended until mid-March.
| Tottenham’s long-term injury concerns | Possible return date |
| Wilson Odobert (knee) | Late November |
| James Maddison (knee) | June |
| Dejan Kulusevski (knee) | May |
| Rodrigo Bentancur (thigh) | May |
| Mohammed Kudus (thigh) | April |
| Lucas Bergvall (ankle) | April |
Two players who have less serious problems are defender Kevin Danso and Pedro Porro, and when asked if the duo could return for the Fulham game, Tudor was hopeful.
He told reporters after the Arsenal defeat, “Yeah, probably two of them. We hope.”
Tottenham need all the players they can get right now in their relegation fight.
Igor Tudor faces huge test at Tottenham
Tudor was brought to Tottenham for the rest of the season following the sacking of summer appointee Thomas Frank.
Spurs are currently on a nine-match winless run, with their last victory coming away at Crystal Palace nearly two months ago.
In addition to their injury issues, Tottenham are a team devoid of confidence, seemingly lacking a plan, and plummeting towards the bottom three.

At a time when they have lost three games in a row, and 18th-placed West Ham have won three of their last six league matches, Spurs fans are now nervously looking over their shoulder.
Tottenham are away to Fulham on Sunday, before hosting fellow strugglers Crystal Palace on 5 March. If Spurs want to stay up, it does seem as if they need to pick up points and fast.
