How UK Tottenham fans can legally watch Xavi Simons play for Netherlands this week
Tottenham fans will take every chance they can get to watch their new signing Xavi Simons in action.
Tottenham announced Xavi Simons just before the summer transfer window closed for another season.
Until his signing, Daniel Levy had faced intense criticism for his transfer window. Even Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham wasn’t safe after Eberechi Eze’s failed transfer.
However, things are looking up for the Lilywhites and Spurs supporters can now keep a close eye on their new signing during the international break.

Tottenham fans can watch Xavi Simons for Netherlands vs Poland on Prime Video
Simons is one of the many Tottenham players who will be with their national teams over the international break.
He will join fellow Tottenham teammate Micky van de Ven, while Djed Spence has received his first call-up for England after Spence went from zero to hero at Tottenham.
However, there is no doubt that watching their new recruit in action will be at the top of Spurs supporters’ to-do list – and it seems they’re in luck.
Tottenham fans can watch Simons on Prime Video on Thursday, 4 September, when the Netherlands takes on Poland as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Kick off is at 7:45pm BST, and supporters can tune in for the price of £2.49.
Where will Xavi Simons play at Tottenham?
After a successful summer window, Tottenham now have a squad that can compete in all competitions. The only issue is that there is greater competition for the top spots.
The arrival of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham has meant that Brennan Johnson has been forced onto the left wing. Meanwhile, Tottenham’s signing of Randal Kolo Muani on loan will likely have implications for Richarlison.
Simons’ arrival means that one of Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha will be demoted to a peripheral position.
- Sarr, Bentancur and Palhinha have formed Spurs’ starting midfield trio
- Sarr has started in all four of Tottenham’s matches while Bentancur and Palhinha have started in three
- Simons can play on the left wing, but prefers the 10 position
It seems likely that Palhinha will be the one shifted so that Simons can start in the midfield. The defensive midfielder disappointed against Bournemouth and is only in North London for the season.
With Sarr’s recent performances solidifying his position as a starter for now and Bentancur offering consistency, it only makes sense that Palhinha accepts a rotational role.
