Harry Kane makes big claim about what’s happened to him since quitting Tottenham
Harry Kane’s Tottenham departure in 2023 was a massive blow for Tottenham as he swapped North London for a challenge at Bayern Munich.
Since making the move to the Bundesliga, the 31-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down, continuing to register a high level of goals.
However, Kane has admitted that he has felt plenty of change since his move which could have massive implications on his future.

Kane makes Tottenham comparison
Throughout Kane’s time with Tottenham, he was a constant mention in discussions of world-class players with the potential of being one of, if not the best striker in the world.
However, throughout his time in England, Kane was never awarded a big accolade such as the Ballon d’Or as a reflection of his talent.
For many, this comes down to the lack of trophies being won at Tottenham over a prolonged period which separated the striker from other nominees.
Although Kane made the move to Germany with the hope of getting his hands on some silverware, he has not yet done so but with Bayern sitting six points clear at the top of the table, he could get his chance this term.
Furthermore, the striker himself has now admitted that he is more respected now he is playing away from Spurs as he told ESPN (21 March): “Just being at a club like Bayern Munich has helped push me on even more, confidence-wise and responsibility-wise.
“I feel like I’ve definitely got better, I’ve improved, and maybe the ‘aura’ of me as a player is a bit more respected than what it has been in the past, because you’re playing in big games, big nights.
“That’s probably what I mean in terms of being respected more worldwide, on the bigger stage. For something like that [the Ballon d’Or], you have to win enough team trophies to be considered in that and probably score 40-odd goals, but that is a possibility this season.”

Kane’s comments a reflection of Tottenham under Daniel Levy
There has been plenty of frustration with Tottenham chief Daniel Levy for a while now due to his lack of financial backing in North London.
Tottenham know that if they want to be a top team that continues to attract the top players then they need to be competing at the top levels and given the possibility to win trophies.
Kane has now admitted that since leaving the club he spent so many years at, he has become more respected and has a greater opportunity at winning trophies both as part of his Bayern Munich team and personally as a player.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
2024/25 | 24 | 21 | 8 |
2023/24 | 32 | 36 | 8 |
The fact he talks about the competitive nature of the games he is involved in, compared to his time at Spurs, speaks levels about the differences in quality and standards.
With the Lilywhites sitting 14th in the Premier League table, Kane’s points have perhaps been emphasised since his departure and surely this has to serve as a wake-up call for those at the top to redefine the standards at Tottenham.
