Graham Roberts makes Kulusevski transfer admission amid ‘huge’ Tottenham claim

Dejan Kulusevski has had a mixed season at Tottenham, but he can play a key role between now and the summer.

The attacker has bagged 10 goals and as many assists in 44 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham this season, which is already nine more than he contributed last term.

However, Kulusevski’s involvement has been rather inconsistent, having scored just twice in the Premier League since the turn of the year.

Suffering a foot injury did not help the Sweden international’s cause, but he will be determined to end the season on a high, having regained full fitness.

Kulusevski can help Spurs win Europa League

Ange Postecoglou will certainly be delighted to have Kulusevski back, especially after Tottenham qualified for the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.

Spurs became one of the last four remaining teams in the Europa League after beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter-final.

Graham Roberts has been pleased with the North London giants’ progress and feels the opportunity to reach a European final is ‘huge’.

The Spurs legend insisted that the likes of Kulusevski signed for the London-based club to win trophies and stressed the need for Postecoglou’s team to make it possible for such players.

“Been thinking about this today, the opportunity now that is here for some of these lads to make a European final is huge”, Roberts wrote on his personal X handle (18 April).

“Some of the new signings like [Dominic] Solanke, [Brennan] Johnson and [Lucas] Bergvall, and also players like Kulu [Kulusevski] deserve it so much and [it is] the reason they signed for us. Let’s make it happen.”

Tottenham need more from Kulusevski

Meanwhile, Kulusevski will be aware that he has to do more to secure his Tottenham future.

The 24-year-old has already fallen behind Johnson, who is Spurs’ top scorer this season with 16 goals in all competitions, in the pecking order.

It would not be a surprise if Daniel Levy cashed in on Kulusevski if his numbers do not improve.

The Swede is contracted to the Premier League club until 2028 and could command a hefty transfer fee if a top European club like Napoli express an interest.

It, therefore, remains to be seen if he can help Spurs go all the way in the Europa League.
