Graham Potter once snubbed Tottenham job for reason that will anger Spurs fans
Tottenham will be looking for revenge when they travel to the London Stadium on Saturday.
The Lilywhites have seen five managers arrive at Hotspur Way in the last five years.
These include Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou. Thomas Frank is replacing Postecoglou after his UEFA Europa League win.
Frank has had a strong start to the season with Tottenham, who secured all three points against Burnley and Manchester City. While a defeat against Bournemouth was not in Spurs’ plans, there is an expectation that Frank will learn moving forward.
But before the Dane and even prior to Postecoglou, Graham Potter was looked at to manage the Lilywhites.

Graham Potter snubbed Tottenham for ‘top four’ job
Following the departure of Mourinho in 2021, Tottenham briefly considered Potter to become head coach.
Potter was at Brighton at the time and was gaining a stellar reputation in the Premier League. However, the move was not meant to be. Or, more brutally, the current West Ham coach was unconvinced of a move to Hotspur Way.
According to The Sun on 27 June 2021, Potter would have only been tempted to leave the Seagulls if a “top-four” offer came through.
The former Brighton manager was keen to wait and enhance his reputation in the hope that the likes of Man City and Liverpool came knocking.
As a result, Spurs appointed Nuno as head coach. However, he only lasted until November 2021, and the North London club appointed Conte as his successor. In an interesting turn of events, Postecoglou has replaced Nuno at Nottingham Forest after a rocky end to his tenure.

Tottenham can get revenge on Graham Potter this weekend
Tottenham will take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday, 13 September upon their return from international break.
- Tottenham lost one in their last five games against the Hammers, winning and drawing two
- Frank has also lost one in his last five against West Ham, winning three and drawing one
- The Dane has won six of his eight games against the Hammers
Spurs will feel confident about their chances, given their own and Frank’s recent form against West Ham. The game could also spark fireworks with Mohammed Kudus set to return to the London Stadium since his arrival at Tottenham in the summer.
But following his comments in 2021, the Lilywhites could further their Premier League chances and get revenge on Potter with a win.
