Goldstein slams ‘bitter’ Postecoglou after what he saw after Chelsea v Tottenham

Andy Goldstein hasn’t held back with his scathing review of Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham lost against Chelsea on Thursday.

The Lilywhites fell to yet another defeat at Stamford Bridge on 3 April as an Enzo Fernandez goal proved to be the difference.

There were little to no positives for the travelling Spurs fans to take as Enzo Maresca’s side piled on the pressure from start to finish in West London.

This has seen Postecoglou come under fire once again in N17, with Goldstein the latest to hit out at the Australian head coach.

Goldstein fumes at Postecoglou after Chelsea defeat

A loss at Stamford Bridge wasn’t necessarily a surprise but the manner of the defeat was inexcusable for many supporters.

This was only made worse when Postecoglou was seen cupping his ears towards the away section after Pape Sarr’s equaliser, which was eventually chalked off.

It is safe to say that this didn’t go down well, especially when the former Celtic boss reacted angrily in his post-match press conference.

The frustration of supporters in North London was echoed by Goldstein live on talkSPORT (4 April, 4:12pm).

He said: “Afterwards, in his interview, he was very petulant, he’s a bitter man. I don’t really understand why he’s constantly biting and constantly miserable, I don’t get that about him.

“He’s a clever man, cupping his ears to his own fans. You’re always asking for trouble, that was a bad move.”

Postecoglou looks to be done at Tottenham

The Australian has come under huge amounts of pressure this season but has somehow managed to ride the wave in North London.

Daniel Levy hasn’t acted to pull the sack trigger and is facing the repercussions of that with what happened against Chelsea.

The Blues showed what happens when you aren’t scared to make a big decision in the dugout, even after the success of Mauricio Pochettino last campaign.

With that being said, the actions of Postecoglou on the sidelines and then with the media after the game isn’t good enough, regardless of any pressure.

It will be interesting to see if the 59-year-old is afforded the time to remain in his job moving forward with a clash against Southampton coming up on Sunday (6 April).
