Glasner now favourite to be new Tottenham manager amid Crystal Palace exit update

Tottenham are on the hunt for a new manager to replace Ange Postecoglou, and Oliver Glasner could be the man for the job.

Daniel Levy may still sack Postecoglou even if Tottenham win the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).

The 59-year-old has had a difficult season domestically, with Spurs slipping to 17th in the Premier League after losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (11 May).

Now, with Postecoglou’s departure from Tottenham a likely possibility, Glasner has emerged as the current favourite to replace him.

Glasner has had an impressive season with Crystal Palace, leading the Eagles to the FA Cup final, where they will take on Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (17 May).

As reported by Caught Offside (11 May), Glasner has garnered interest from several suitors, including RB Leipzig, whom he denied being in talks with.

However, a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seems to be on the cards.

Glasner has now emerged as the favourite to replace Postecoglou, with the odds of the Austrian joining Tottenham slashed by bet365 to 6/4.

Postecoglou is under pressure at Tottenham

Pressure continues to mount for Postecoglou, who could be out the door if he fails to secure the Europa League trophy.

Even in the event of a victory, his future is still uncertain with Levy lining up several replacements, including Ajax boss, Francesco Farioli.

It will be difficult for Tottenham, who are without James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall, when they travel to Spain in the coming days.

A win in the Europa League final would be a miracle for the Australian manager, who claimed he always lifts silverware in his second season.

With the odds against him and a host of injuries under his belt, a victory in the final may be the only thing that can save Postecoglou.
