Frankfurt vs Tottenham postponement update with Germany weather warning in full force

Tottenham’s trip to Frankfurt in the Champions League will take place in freezing conditions on Wednesday.

Although Spurs have been poor in the Premier League under Thomas Frank, they have had no problems in Europe.

Spurs have thrived in the Champions League, most recently beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 20 January.

They currently sit fifth in the table, and a win against already-eliminated Frankfurt would secure automatic qualification to the round of 16.

Frank is under pressure to secure all three points, although his side will have to brave the adverse weather in Germany.

Frankfurt vs Tottenham not at risk of postponement despite weather warnings

Tottenham fans travelling to Germany will be facing completely different weather conditions from those in England.

Yellow weather warnings have been put in place across Germany on Wednesday, with there being a high chance of snow and ice on the roads.

As per MeteoAlarm, there is a risk of icy surfaces, and fans should expect the ground to be slippery when travelling around Frankfurt.

There is a 40 per cent chance of rain, although the match at the Waldstadion will not be postponed unless there is a serious change in the weather forecast.

Thomas Frank should be sacked if Tottenham fail to beat Frankfurt

Although Spurs should expect an incredibly hostile atmosphere, they should have far too much quality for the German outfit.

Burnley held Tottenham to a 2-2 draw on Saturday, but Frankfurt are a completely different team, and Frank’s side should experience much more joy in attack.

Frank’s style of play is perfect against teams that leave themselves exposed, and anything other than a win would be a huge opportunity missed.

Frankfurt are looking for a new head coach after Dino Toppmoller was sacked on 18 January for a poor run of results.

They were defensively shambolic at times, and no side has conceded more goals than them in the Bundesliga (42) or in the Champions League (19).

Frank is already on the verge of the sack, and the German side has nothing to play for, so anything other than a routine victory should signal the end of his time in charge.
