Frankfurt v Tottenham result predicted by supercomputer

Tottenham will face their biggest game of the season as they travel to Germany to take on Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ange Postecoglou’s future at Spurs may rest on this game, as it is Tottenham’s last chance of European qualification.

Tottenham have endured a miserable domestic campaign which has seen them lose 17 of their 32 Premier League games so far, and the Europa League is their only opportunity to salvage anything from the season.

Frankfurt will not be easy opposition, though, with Spurs drawing 1-1 in North London in the first leg of their quarter-final clash, and the result has now been predicted.

Frankfurt backed to beat Tottenham in Europa League

Tottenham are set to face a hostile atmosphere in Frankfurt as they travel to the Waldstadion, and home advantage has been backed to play a huge part.

Opta’s supercomputer has predicted the outcome of the game, and has given Frankfurt a 40.6 per cent chance of victory on the night.

Spurs have been given a win probability of 32.8 per cent, meaning that although Frankfurt are favourites, there is not much separating the two sides.

A draw has been given a probability of 26.6 per cent, and this result after 90 minutes would see the game go to extra time.

Spurs cannot afford to lose to Frankfurt

Tottenham’s entire season now rests on this one game in Germany, with the Europa League their only outside chance of success.

Should Spurs beat Frankfurt, they will face the winner of Bodo/Glimt and Lazio, in order to reach the final at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.

If Tottenham lose to Frankfurt, they will miss out on European football entirely, while also likely recording their lowest-ever Premier League finish, and this would be a disaster in financial terms.

Several key stars including Cristian Romero have been linked with exits, and defeat in Germany will make it harder for Tottenham to keep their better players.

Postecoglou’s job also hangs in the balance, and should his side lose, his time at the club will almost certainly come to an end, with Thiago Motta among the names linked as his replacement.
