Fabio Paratici verbally agrees role after crunch Levy talks at Tottenham

Fabio Paratici has been linked with a return to Tottenham and recently held talks with Spurs owner Daniel Levy.

The Italian was previously employed by the North London giants as director of football between 2021 and 2023 before facing a ban from football, which is set to be lifted on 30 June, for his involvement in Juventus’ financial scandal.

After a potential return to Spurs had been mooted, Paratici held talks with Levy last week and had received a handsome offer from Tottenham.

Paratici verbally agrees next move after Tottenham talks

While Levy was keen to bring the Italian back to Spurs, he has now verbally agreed a deal to become AC Milan’s new sporting director, as shared by Lyall Thomas.

Milan are enduring a poor season in Serie A and sit just ninth in the Italian top-flight, but could progress to the Coppa Italia final if they can beat bitter rivals Inter in a two-legged semi-final.

Tottenham must get back to winning ways

News that Paratici is not returning to Spurs may come as a disappointment to fans, who witnessed the Italian help the North London side complete successful deals in the transfer market, such as the addition of midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou’s men sit just 14th in the Premier League table after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Fulham last time out amid growing pressure on the Australian boss.

Spurs will be keen to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking when they take on London rivals Chelsea on Thursday, before taking on relegation strugglers Southampton on Sunday.

After they take on the Saints, Tottenham then face the first leg of their all-important Europa League quarter-final tie with Eintracht Frankfurt.

If Spurs do not finish the season more successfully than that of the rest of their campaign, then Postecoglou is destined for the sack.
