Edin Terzic informs president he expects to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham
Besiktas presidential candidate Serdal Adali has shared that Edin Terzic expects to succeed Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
The Australian is under increasing pressure at Spurs after the 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day and has been deemed “arrogant” for his refusal to adapt his tactical approach at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, a managerial update has emerged from the most unlikely of sources, as Adali shared with Turkish TV broadcaster Tivibu Spor (28 December), as relayed by Daily Hotspur, that former Borussia Dortmund boss Terzic is closing on an agreement with Tottenham.
He said: “Edin Terzić was one of our foreign alternatives. In the meeting, he said he was expecting an agreement with Tottenham. That book is closed.”
Ange Postecoglou is running out of time at Tottenham
Tottenham are heading into the clash with relegation-threatened Wolves on Sunday (29 December) in 12th-place in the Premier League table, and should results not go their way, they will enter the New Year as a bottom-half table side.
Postecoglou breathed fresh life into a depleted Spurs fanbase following his arrival last term but now risks undoing all his hard work in a few short months.
Although his contract in North London runs until 2027, Daniel Levy will not be opposed to dismissing the manager should results not improve, with the overall expectation being that Postecoglou will not be allowed to finish his project.
This season’s woes are, however, not entirely down to the manager – his side have struggled with fitness throughout the campaign and after Ben Davies was confirmed to be sidelined ahead of the Wolves clash, he is preparing for the Premier League encounter without one available senior option in central defence.

However, the rumblings are growing louder in North London – TEAMtalk reported on 14 December that Thomas Frank has named the Lilywhites as his preferred landing spot should he leave Brentford.
Only time will tell whether Terzic is indeed in talks to become the latest manager at Tottenham, but should the speculation prove accurate, not many in North London would object to a Champions League finalist at the helm.
