Djed Spence reveals Tottenham star who has helped his transformation
Djed Spence has endured a difficult time at Tottenham.
The 24-year-old endured a nightmare under the management of Antonio Conte as he fell out with the Italian and hardly featured for Spurs, being sent on numerous loan spells.
He has finally emerged from a rough spell under Ange Postecoglou and has made 16 appearances in the Premier League this season.

Spence reveals James Maddison influence at Tottenham
Spence has enjoyed a revival at Tottenham in recent months and credits James Maddison for playing a huge role in his development.
The former Nottingham Forest star revealed the England ace’s impact in an interview with former Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand.
Asked on the Rio Presents podcast (24 March) who has helped him the most, Spence said: “I would say Madders. He’s there for me, makes sure I’m ready before games, even after games, and he’ll text me if he’s not in the squad because of injury, and be like, Djed, you know what to do today, or I want to see this from you. Madders supports me a lot to be fair.”
England call-up the next aim for Spence
There was a genuine surprise among Spurs supporters when Thomas Tuchel failed to call up Spence for his first England squad since taking the role after Gareth Southgate’s departure.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, the Spurs man must continue his great run of form and force the former Chelsea man to take notice, whether that is at left-back or on the right.

He needs to keep his head down and work even harder to impress Tuchel who went with the likes of Arsenal starlet Myles Lewis-Skelly and Tino Livramento in his squad on this occasion as new additions rather than the Spurs star.
Postecoglou will hope that Spence can keep up his phenomenal recent run and help his side to the Europa League trophy to end a 17-year drought and keep him in the dugout.
It is a refreshing change to see a player emerge from a dark period and make the most of a run in the side and if he can carry on, he could make it the ultimate transformation if he can make the Three Lions squad in the future.
If Maddison can get there alongside him, it will be a full circle moment for the Lilywhites duo after Spence’s recent admission and it may help him to settle in among the elite players in the national team.
