Destiny Udogie sends message as successful Tottenham surgery now confirmed after injury
Tottenham have experienced several injury issues this season already, with the latest player sidelined now undergoing successful surgery.
James Maddison ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in pre-season and has been ruled out for almost the entirety of the campaign already.
The midfielder had hoped to put together a strong run of form under Thomas Frank in the months before the World Cup, but is now not expected to return until May.
Dominic Solanke also underwent surgery on an ankle issue and is expected to return for Spurs before the end of the year.
In yet another concern for Frank, Cristian Romero has suffered an adductor strain and missed matches against both Aston Villa and Monaco.
That isn’t the end of the bad news, though.

Destiny Udogie sends message to Yves Bissouma
Yves Bissouma was stretchered off while playing for Mali over the international break, with the midfielder suffering a heavy challenge on his ankle.
The 29-year-old has not played for Spurs under Frank and was expected to leave in the summer.
Bissouma had been linked with a move to Galatasaray, with the deal reportedly in its final stages before it collapsed.
| Yves Bissouma | Premier League 2025-26 |
| Appearances | 28 |
| Goals | 2 |
| Dribble success | 31.8% |
| Penalties conceded | 2 |
| Dribbled past | 15 |
| Dispossessed | 15 |
The Mali international had been a regular for Spurs under the management of Ange Postecoglou, but had let frequent mistakes creep into his game.
Frank had already been unlikely to play the midfielder, and the arrival of Joao Palhinha all but confirmed Bissouma’s absence from the team.
But the former Brighton man is now set to stay in North London for the foreseeable, after undergoing surgery on his ankle.
Bissouma took to Instagram to share a picture of himself post-surgery, and confirmed that “everything went well.”
Destiny Udogie, who has experienced his own fair share of injury issues over the last two seasons, commented, “God’s plan”, while Maddison also wrote: “You’ve got this, brother. Speedy recovery”.
Could Bissouma play for Spurs again?
Speaking after Bissouma had been stretchered off, Frank told the media: “Biss, unfortunately, had a situation with the national team.
“I think everyone saw that, so he got a ligament injury to his ankle that will keep him out for weeks.“
Frank’s assessment of weeks would see Bissouma return to action after the November international break, although his recovery is more likely to stretch into December.
The midfielder was already an outcast and is not expected to return to the fray, but injuries elsewhere could place Frank in an uncomfortable position.
