Destiny Udogie reacts as ex-Tottenham player agrees terms with Arsenal

Tottenham and Arsenal share a bitter rivalry in North London, and players rarely cross the divide.

Some players have featured for both clubs, with David Bentley, William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor among those who played for Tottenham after leaving Arsenal.

The North London derby has been a miserable outing for Tottenham in recent years, with the Lilywhites’ last win in the fixture coming in 2022, but there is no shortage of hatred on the day between either fanbase.

Arsenal have now signed a player who previously came through the Spurs academy, and Destiny Udogie has reacted.

Udogie reacts as Arsenal sign Noni Madueke

England international Noni Madueke came through the Spurs academy, but was never given a first-team chance before moving to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

Chelsea then brought Madueke back to London, but he struggled to establish himself as a starter in the Premier League for the Blues.

Despite this, Arsenal made the surprising decision to sign Madueke from Chelsea in a deal which could reach £52million, and the former Spurs starlet is now returning to North London.

Madueke announced his move on Instagram, and Spurs defender Udogie liked the post, and the pair could directly face each other next season.

Transfers between London rivals increasing

There was a period when Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal would not do any business with each other, but this has now dramatically changed.

While Arsenal and Spurs would never sell to one another, Chelsea and the Gunners have done a lot of business with each other in recent years.

Tottenham also ended an unofficial transfer embargo with West Ham to sign Mohammed Kudus this summer, a move which has caused anger in East London.

Madueke will become the first player since Gallas to have an association with all three of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs, and there could be more to follow in the future.
