Daniel Levy set for ‘lucrative’ Postecoglou pay-off at Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou is in line for a hefty pay-out from Daniel Levy as Tottenham weigh up his future.

Spurs will face Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final in Bilbao next Wednesday (21 May) in one of their biggest games in recent times.

The outcome of the result could have a huge impact on Postecoglou’s future, as he faces the prospect of being sacked by Tottenham after what has been a nightmare of a season.

There have been suggestions that Levy will sack the former Celtic boss regardless of what happens at the San Mames stadium in one week’s time.

Postecoglou set for £2m Europa League bonus

It has now emerged that Postecoglou is poised to receive a ‘lucrative’ bonus if he leads Tottenham to their first European trophy in 41 years.

The Greek-Australian manager is in line to receive a sum of around £2million if he beats Manchester United next week, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper reported via their website on Wednesday (14 May) that Spurs players will also share £3million between them in the event of a victory in Bilbao.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou is in a win-win situation financially, as he stands to receive a hefty sum whether or not he wins.

The North London giants are certain to sack Postecoglou if they lose against the Red Devils, meaning the manager would pocket a compensation fee from ENIC, as he is contracted to them until 2027.

The 59-year-old could also take home the bonus and the compensation fee if Spurs decide to pull the plug on him even after he leads them to glory in the Europa League.

Postecoglou not driven by ENIC bonus

However, Postecoglou is not focused on the financial implications of winning or losing the Europa League final.

The manager is also not driven by the motive of trying to save his job, with his sole target being lifting the trophy with Spurs.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim is also expected to receive a bonus from the Manchester United owners if he emerges victorious against their Premier League rivals next week.
