Daniel Levy ‘laughing’ after what Fabrizio Romano has now said about Manor Solomon

Daniel Levy will surely be laughing after what Fabrizio Romano has now reported about Leeds United loanee Manor Solomon.

Solomon left North London for West Yorkshire last August on a season-long loan to the Championship promotion hopefuls, and has established a permanent place in the starting XI for Daniel Farke’s Leeds.

Leeds, however, possess no permanent option or obligation to buy Solomon come season’s end regardless of if they seal promotion or not, sparking a potential bidding war for his services this summer.

Tottenham aren’t expected to accept anything less than £10million with a sale seemingly inevitable in the summer transfer window, and that highly affordable price tag is expected to generate plenty of interest.

Solomon exit update shared at Tottenham

If there’s any profit to be made on the Israel international this summer – having signed for Spurs as a free agent in 2023 – expect Levy to ensure that the Lilywhites maximise any fee they can get for him.

Speaking to GiveMeSport’s Market Madness podcast on X (26 February), journalist Fabrizio Romano had no doubt that the battle for Solomon’s signature this summer would spark a multi-club bidding war.

Romano said: “For sure. Leeds want to try to keep the player, but they will need to get promoted. There will be more clubs interested from the Premier League.

“At the moment, it’s not something advanced. The player is focused on events on the pitch, so there’s nothing really concrete, but the interest from Leeds to make this deal is absolutely there.

“There was also interest from Italy before he joined Leeds, but for sure Leeds will try.”

Solomon set to earn sizeable profit for Levy and Tottenham

Though Solomon’s ultimate destination come the start of next season remains up in the air, it’s a near-certainty that he won’t be plying his trade for Tottenham beyond the end of the current campaign.

If Leeds – who sit seven points clear in the Championship’s automatic promotion places – do make their Premier League return, they’ll surely be the 25-year-old’s preference for a summer move.

Manor Solomon’s record for Tottenham and Leeds the past two seasons

Given the frequent relations the two clubs have had in recent years; Archie Gray and Joe Rodon heading in opposite directions last summer, you’d expect Tottenham to be happy dealing with Leeds again.

With a Premier League-induced cash windfall behind them, Leeds will certainly have the capability of paying Tottenham’s asking price, but with other clubs interested, who knows how high a bar that will be.

Levy will certainly be keen to exact maximum value for the Israel international, and with Solomon closing in on double-figures for both goals and assists, don’t be surprised to see that £10m price tag double.
