Daniel Levy could oversee £250m-plus losses at Tottenham in new PSR update

Tottenham supporters have once again been left bitterly disappointed by those in the boardroom this season.

It was a disastrous Premier League campaign for the Lilywhites, who somehow finished 17th in the table.

The Europa League run saved the season, though, with victory over Manchester United in the final securing Champions League football for next term.

Nevertheless, supporters have made their disappointment in Daniel Levy known, and it’s clear expectations have to be much higher next term.

Tottenham set for financial loss

Although the disappointment of this season had an impact on the way supporters felt, there were also serious financial implications for Tottenham.

Therefore, the Europa League victory proved to be a massive benefit for the Lilywhites, limiting some of the financial difficulties that could have been caused.

Nevertheless, having made losses in recent years due to putting money into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the north London outfit are not in a position where they can be losing out.

It does seem as though Levy may have got things right, though, despite the worries that fans may be facing at first glance.

According to The Athletic (5 June), Spurs are set to be in the fourth-best position when it comes to PSR this summer.

Levy could oversee his side losing over £250million in 2024-25 and still be safe, £277m to be precise.

Although Premier League prize money has decreased, Levy should have some cash to spend this summer, with PSR said to be no issue.

Levy has decision to make on Postsecoglou

Tottenham may end up in a fairly safe position under Levy, but supporters are not going to be too happy with him just yet.

When you consider the help that Champions League qualification has had, Ange Postecoglou may be seen as deserving to keep his place at the helm for next season.

Tottenham need to improve next season.

However, there is no way that Tottenham can have a similar season next term and parting ways with the boss could be the way to ensure Spurs will look forward.

Thankfully, Tottenham are in a solid position this summer when it comes to PSR restrictions, especially compared to others in the league.

However, it should serve as a warning that significant improvements are needed.
