Dane Scarlett told ‘fantastic’ Tottenham exit could now be on cards
Dane Scarlett’s Tottenham career is in the balance after a disappointing season.
The 21-year-old forward spent a significant period of this season out on loan at Oxford United, although he barely lit the world on fire during this spell.
Scarlett was recalled from the Kassam Stadium but only made three Premier League appearances for Spurs before being ruled out by a groin injury.
Now, with the summer transfer window open, pundits are beginning to speculate over the young striker’s future.

Scarlett backed to thrive at West Brom under Ryan Mason
Former Tottenham coach Ryan Mason was recently named the new West Bromwich Albion manager, and he has been backed to attract some out-of-favour Spurs players to The Hawthorns.
When questioned about Mason’s appointment by Football League World (4 June), former Premier League striker Emile Heskey suggested that Scarlett could be a “fantastic” target for The Baggies.
He said: “Somebody like that would be fantastic because you’re getting a player who really should be playing first-team football and somebody who’s hungry because he’s playing for the England U21s.”
“You’re getting a player who, throughout his progression, has scored goals, so he knows where the net is, which is fantastic for that level of team.”
Heskey added that it would be “silly” for Mason not to use his Tottenham connections to help him in the transfer market, which suggests that Spurs could expect to receive some enquiries from their former coach sooner rather than later.
Indeed, Mikey Moore has also been linked with a move to West Brom in the last few days.
Mason left his role as a first-team coach at Spurs to accept the position as West Brom manager. His contract was due to expire in June, and he had made it clear that he was not interested in signing a new one while Ange Postecoglou was still manager.

Scarlett’s Tottenham future hangs in the balance
The future of young players like Scarlett will depend on whether Spurs decide to stick with Postecoglou this summer.
There is a lot of speculation surrounding the Australian manager’s future, with several media outlets reporting that Tottenham are about to sack Postecoglou.
Of course, that would mean recruiting a new manager. More importantly for Scarlett, it would mean a new man in charge of his future in North London.

At 21 years old, Scarlett still has time to develop into a first-choice Premier League striker.
The problem for him is: Tottenham are likely to splash the cash in this summer’s transfer window, meaning he could fall even further down the pecking order.
Ultimately, though, Scarlett will need to wait for the decision on Postecoglou before he can be sure where his future lies.
