Daily Mail journalist mocks Postecoglou as Tottenham behind-the-scenes drama emerges

Ange Postecoglou is under huge pressure at Tottenham, and he has often gone to war with the media this season.

Postecoglou’s side have been dismal domestically as they sit 15th in the Premier League table, and the Australian is running out of time to turn things around.

Tottenham’s last hopes for the rest of the campaign lay in the Europa League, and their upcoming clash with Eintracht Frankfurt is now their biggest game of the season.

Spurs have endured a nightmare with their injury issues this season, but Postecoglou has not made things easier for his squad.

Postecoglou mocked for complaints about Tottenham injury leaks

Not only have Tottenham had a lot of injuries, but they have also had to deal with leaks coming out of the squad about them, which Postecoglou was furious about.

The Spurs manager has now been mocked in the Mail on Sunday (13 April, page 97) for complaining about the leaks, rather than trying to solve why his squad have suffered so many injuries.

“Ange Postecoglou says he has spent months hunting those responsible for leaking information about Tottenham’s numerous injuries this season,” Riath Al-Samarrai wrote.

“The time might have been better spent wondering if a strategy built on relentless sprinting before and during his various injury crises was giving the mole a little too much to work with.”

Postecoglou facing heavy Tottenham pressure

Postecoglou has been complaining a lot in recent weeks, and it is a symptom of the pressure he faces as Spurs manager.

It appears likelier than ever that Postecoglou will not be in charge next season barring a miraculous Europa League victory, and the Frankfurt game may even be his last if Spurs lose.

Injuries have derailed Spurs this season, but his side have been below par even with most of the squad fit, and Postecoglou can no longer hide behind injuries or leaks to excuse poor results and performances.

Postecoglou’s high-sprinting style may be behind the increase in muscle injuries this season, and his stubbornness over his tactics could eventually lead to his downfall.
