Cundy left in stitches at O’Hara reply to ‘Insane’ Tottenham relegation question

Jason Cundy was left in stitches after Jamie O’Hara said he’d consider Tottenham winning the Europa League but then getting relegated to the Championship.

Spurs are 15th in the top flight at the moment after a fairly poor run of results and the recent injury to Radu Dragusin isn’t likely going to help matters much either.

Speaking on talkSPORT’s Sports Bar (30 January), O’Hara responded to the “insane” question that Cundy shared.

“You could win the Europa League which get you in the Champions League [and then] you could get relegated,” Cundy said.

“Here’s a question, this is going to be an insane question, you’re going to win the Europa League to get into the Champions League but then on the last day of the season, you get relegated, what you taking?”

To which O’Hara replied: “You know what though right, if you win the Europa League and you get Champions League football, you can have one season in the Championship but you get Champions League football and then you win the Championship, it’s a couple of trophies in two seasons, I dunno.

Cundy found O’Hara’s reply hysterical, then said: “You lot are so funny.”

Tottenham need to get their act together in the Premier League

Since the start of the season, Tottenham fans have been calling for the head of Ange Postecoglou after the performances his team have put in across the campaign.

While their performance against Elfsborg on Thursday was an impressive one, it feels like that sort of performance needs to be replicated domestically otherwise things could start to go from bad to worse at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

To be quite frank, the fact that relegation is even something that’s being talked about in North London, even in a joking manner, should be bringing up major red flags for Daniel Levy.

However, due to the sheer amount of injuries that Tottenham have suffered from this season, it feels like the Australian has been given some slack.

Only time will tell if Levy’s patience will pay off but if things don’t turn around in the top flight soon, Cundy’s question could become a reality which would be a far from ideal situation for all those involved.
