Chelsea ‘look at quick deal already’ as Tottenham hold Huijsen transfer talks
Dean Huijsen is set to be the transfer saga of the summer, with Tottenham in the race already.
Spurs are already starting to plan for next season after an abysmal 2024-25 campaign has left them with nothing to play for in the Premier League.
While Ange Postecoglou’s men could still win the Europa League, many are already looking toward the future, including Daniel Levy.
Levy has reportedly decided that Postecoglou will not be at the helm next season, regardless of what the Lilywhites go on to achieve in Europe; therefore, hiring a new manager is a paramount decision.

Tottenham have been too slow to act
Bournemouth defender Huijsen is a player on the wish list of many Premier League and European teams this summer due to his breakout performances for Bournemouth this season.
However, according to Ben Jacobs, it is Chelsea who have been fastest out of the gate and are pushing to sign him in a quick deal to have him in their squad before the Club World Cup.
Liverpool and Arsenal remain in the race to land his signature, while Tottenham and Newcastle United have also held talks, with Huijsen expected to remain in the Premier League next season.

Real Madrid are another interested party, but they haven’t committed to signing a centre-back yet, and multiple Premier League clubs are rushing to try and get this one over the line immediately.
Tottenham’s managerial decisions could impact the summer
The current mess behind the scenes at Spurs could negatively impact their ability to sign Huijsen, as it will be hard to convince the player that there is a project going on when it’s being widely speculated that Postecoglou is going to be fired.
A firm decision on the manager’s future might be a better call from Levy to aid their future negotiations and create a clear plan moving forward.
Plus, it is going to be tricky for Tottenham to sign players, given the fact that it is unclear who will be in charge and what style will be implemented.
