Carragher rages at ‘Awful’ Cristian Romero after ‘Nightmare’ Tottenham footage
Jamie Carragher was far from impressed with what he saw of Cristian Romero in the Tottenham draw against Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Cherries travelled to North London and somehow didn’t take three points despite a shoddy performance from Ange Postecoglou’s side.
There was a strange atmosphere in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and that was only made worse by goals from Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson before a Heung-Min Son equaliser to make it 2-2.
It wasn’t so much the draw that left Carragher fuming, it was the returning Romero who caught the eye on a sunny afternoon in N17.

Romero struggles on Tottenham return v Bournemouth
The 26-year-old made his first appearance since early December against a high-flying Bournemouth side.
This came after returning to training in recent weeks while also being called up to the Argentina squad for the upcoming international break.
It is likely to take some time for the defender to get back up to speed in the Premier League as he only managed 60 minutes against the Cherries.
With that being said, the centre-half could have been hooked earlier in the clash after his performance in the opening 12 minutes in North London.
Carragher picked out the Argentine after just four minutes on Sky Sports Premier League (9 March, 02:04pm), as he said: “Romero has had an absolute nightmare at the start.
“That’s twice Vicario has come to the rescue. Bournemouth should be in front.”
The former Liverpool man didn’t have anything better to say about the Spurs defender eight minutes later as he added: “The passing from Romero has been awful.”

Romero must improve or risk losing Tottenham place
It is fair to say that Romero has come under fire in N17 for taking a place in the Argentina squad this month.
Given how long he has been absent from injury, surely staying in the UK makes more sense for his recovery than playing two international games.
It appears to be clear that Postecoglou needs to keep the defender at Hotspur Way to work on his game after his showing against Bournemouth.

Micky van de Ven came on and played like he had never been away.
By comparison, there is very little positive to say about the ex-Juventus man and as a result, he needs to buck up his ideas ahead of a return leg against AZ Alkmaar.
