Brighton fans aim brutal chant at Postecoglou in win over Tottenham
Brighton fans were taunting Ange Postecoglou during the Seagulls’ 4-1 victory against Tottenham on Sunday.
Tottenham once again could not back up their UEFA Europa League performances domestically, finishing the season in their lowest ever Premier League position and with their lowest ever points tally after defeat against Brighton on 25 May.
The Seagulls secured an 8th-place finish with the victory, but ultimately missed out on European football for next season on an epic final day.
Nonetheless, they were in good voice at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and took the opportunity to mock the under-pressure Spurs manager after the home side fell apart in the second half.

Brighton fans chant ‘sacked in the morning’ at Postecoglou
Spurs fans have become enamoured with Postecoglou after the 59-year-old delivered them a night they have waited 41 years to experience again.
Yet, the lacklustre performance against Brighton served as a reminder of how fragile his team have been in the league, which could ultimately be the Australian’s downfall.
Stats | Brighton | Tottenham |

Shortly after Brighton took the lead, Brighton fans began to chant “Sacked in the morning” in the direction of Postecoglou, as per The Athletic’s Andy Naylor (25 May).
Tottenham went on to concede two more, adding further fuel to the fire ahead of an intriguing summer in North London. Ultimately, the decision will fall to Daniel Levy, and the Spurs chairman’s recent statement suggests the Brighton supporters’ chants could become reality.
Levy must reflect on a crazy season at Tottenham
Tottenham have always been an unconventional club, but this season has taken it to a new level.
The dichotomy of their European exploits and their domestic season is quite remarkable, with the club able to finally christen their stadium with a piece of silverware while simultaneously thanking their lucky stars that the promoted teams offered very little threat of escaping relegation.
The Londoners will also entertain UEFA Champions League football next season, but will be fearful of their squad’s inability to handle multiple competitions.
Levy has suffered both fan furore and ecstasy throughout the campaign, and will struggle to reflect on exactly how the season panned out overall, which could make a decision on Postecoglou complicated.
