Bissouma shares heartfelt message exchange with Postecoglou after Tottenham sack

Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal as Tottenham manager has been received with a mixed reaction, but the playing squad may not be so happy.

Postecoglou won Tottenham the Europa League, but a dismal Premier League campaign meant he was sacked, and some fans were furious at Daniel Levy as a result.

There have been reports that the dressing room was unhappy following Postecoglou’s exit, while some may leave the club this summer.

Yves Bissouma is one of the players who could depart, and he was clearly on Postecoglou’s side as he has now revealed the messages they sent each other after his Tottenham departure.

Bissouma reveals Postecoglou messages

Bissouma has been linked with a move to Turkey, and he was likely to depart whether Postecoglou stayed or went.

However, he was clearly upset by the news, and sent a heartfelt message of thanks to his manager, who also replied, emphasising his admiration for the midfielder.

Bissouma shared the messages on his Snapchat story, which have now been spread around social media, and they clearly point at a healthy relationship between the two.

“It was an honour to share a dressing room with you and appreciate how much you believed in what we were trying to achieve. I wish you only the best for the future. I will always be following. Much love from my family to yours,” Postecoglou texted Bissouma.

“Thank you gaffer and thank you really much for everything you did for me on and off the pitch I’ll always be grateful.

“The way you believed me and trusted me was incredible.

“I gonna miss you but it’s football life a got a lot to said but I think you know what I’m thinking about you already, so I just wishing you all the best for the future and may God protect you and you family,” Bissouma replied.

Bissouma’s record under Postecoglou

Bissouma arrived at Tottenham a year before Postecoglou, but has been in and out of the team under the Australian.

The midfielder started just 16 of his 28 Premier League appearances this season, but started and played 90 minutes in the Europa League final.

However, his selection was an enforced one as Tottenham were missing Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison through injury, but Bissouma nevertheless played his part as his team ended a 17-year trophy drought.

The 28-year-old has made 100 appearances for Tottenham, and 72 of these came under Postecoglou, while the Europa League was the first and only trophy of his career to date.
