BBC called out over ‘Horrible’ Postecoglou footage at Tottenham
Ben Foster has slammed the BBC for their interview with Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham lost to Everton on Sunday.
Spurs supporters were not happy with their side after the 3-2 defeat at Goodison Park on 19 January, which was reflected by the Australian’s post-match interview.
BBC Sport commentator Martin Fisher suggested that the loss represented a “familiar story” for the Lilywhites, which Postecoglou took issue with.
The frustrations of the former Celtic manager were echoed by former Manchester United goalkeeper Foster on the Football Fill-In [21 January], as he described the situation as “horrible”.
He said: “They started the interview, which I think is really unprofessional, they started the interview by saying ‘Ange, familiar story.’
“I think they need to be more professional. The BBC, that the interviewer needs to be more professional and ask him a question in a different way. He’s poking the bear and from it, it just looks ****.
“I don’t want to see Ange staring at the floor and not wanting to engage because the second the interviewer asks that question, he doesn’t want to do that interview. It’s horrible.”
BBC slammed for interview with Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham defeat v Everton
The manager of the N17 club has been short in interviews in recent weeks, which doesn’t come as a surprise given his side’s recent form.
It is clear that the idea of a “familiar story” angered Postecoglou, who virtually shut down and gave basic ‘ABC answers’ for the remainder of the conversation.
There were many points of interest for supporters to hear about, especially after going 3-0 down against the Toffees before the half-time whistle.
This was ruined by a question which saw the manager shut down, although some fans may suggest that defeat is becoming a little bit too familiar.
