Bayern v Tottenham: How to watch, kick-off time, where is game being played?

Tottenham are set to conclude their pre-season preparations by facing Bayern Munich on Thursday.

Thomas Frank has overseen an unbeaten start in pre-season thus far, and will hope to continue in that vein against the German champions.

Spurs are set to return from their pre-season tour in Asia, where they recorded an impressive 1-0 victory against Arsenal in Hong Kong (31 July) before drawing 1-1 with Newcastle in Seoul (3 August).

The players are due a couple of days off before they prepare to face off against Vincent Kompany’s men, which could see Joao Palhinha line up against his parent club less than a week after joining Spurs.

Latest news ahead of Bayern v Tottenham

Tottenham will travel to Bavaria without the familiar face of Son Heung-min, who stayed in South Korea ahead of his impending move to LAFC.

Frank will also be without James Maddison, who brutally re-injured his knee against Newcastle, which saw him leave the stadium on crutches with his hood up in despair.

This will add to the four players still out with long-term injuries, while it’s unclear how close both Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie are to returning to fitness.

Palhinha will expect to feature in some capacity, while several young players could be left out after Tottenham made as many as eight youngsters available for loan this summer.

They should have a slight advantage over Bayern, who delayed their pre-season preparations after competing in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Their first game back was a friendly against Lyon (2 August), which they won 2-1 as Luis Diaz made his debut for Vincent Kompany’s side.

It promises to be a hotly contested game, while Spurs will do well to keep a clean sheet as they face off against their record goalscorer, Harry Kane.

However, Frank’s primary focus will be on the performance rather than the result, and he will be hoping not to pick up another injury ahead of the UEFA Super Cup, which awaits the Lilywhites six days later.
