Aston Villa chief hits out after brand new Tottenham announcement
Tottenham are facing a crucial final few weeks of the season.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side have endured a miserable domestic campaign and find themselves sitting 16th in the Premier League.
Their only chance for success is in the Europa League, where they hold a 3-1 advantage over Bodo/Glimt ahead of the semi-final second leg.
If they qualify for the Bilbao showcase, Spurs have been handed a major boost after a new announcement was made.

Monchi hits out as Tottenham announcement made
Tottenham’s clash with Aston Villa was originally scheduled for 18 May, just three days before the European final is set to take place.
However, the contest has now been moved to 16 May to allow the Lilywhites extra time to prepare for a potential final.
The Villans objected to the request as there is no precedent for the governing body to move matches to help clubs in Europe but their wishes were ignored.
Monchi, the Villa Park outfit’s President of Football Operations, has slammed the decision on social media after the B6 outfit’s objections were rejected.
Taking to his personal X account, he said: “The change of the fixture of Tottenham is not what we wanted.
“We were not entitled to keep it and we got the least damaging alternative.
“Our fans didn’t deserve but we tried hard to keep the match to protect the most important for us: YOU and OUR TEAM. We need you on Friday. Always Up the Villa.”

Tottenham will benefit from Villa announcement
Villa’s objections were fair; they have played every three or four days as a result of their participation in three competitions: the Champions League, the FA Cup and the league.
However, the Lilywhites will not be concerned after they were rejected, given that the fixture change is a huge benefit to them.
Team | Date | Venue |
Bodo/Glimt | 8 May | Aspmyra Stadion |
Crystal Palace | 11 May | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium |
Aston Villa | 16 May | Villa Park |
TBC (Europa League final) | 21 May | San Mames |
Brighton | 25 May | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium |
Spurs are under major pressure to bring back a trophy for the first time since 2008, and any help that they can get will be welcomed.
Postecoglou’s side will have more time to get ready for the potential final, which can only be good news as the Australian looks to hang on to his job in North London.
The 59-year-old has already been dealt two major blows for the clash, with James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall ruled out for the rest of the campaign and cannot afford any more injury concerns.
They are expected to meet Manchester United in the final, if there are no shock results on Thursday (8 May) and will be confident that they can win, given that they have won all three times the sides have met this season.
