Archie Gray singled out for what he did to Man United players after Tottenham win

Archie Gray’s level of maturity was on full display in Bilbao after Tottenham won the Europa League final.

Tottenham‘s 17-year wait for a major trophy was brought to an end on Wednesday night, courtesy of a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Given the fact that Spurs could finish as low as 17th in the Premier League, it was crucial that they found success in Europe, and they did just that.

Celebrations, as expected, were wild across North London, but what Gray did after the full-time whistle caught the eye.

Tottenham youngster shows ‘class’ in post-match behaviour

As soon as the full-time whistle in Bilbao was sounded, Tottenham fans and players celebrated, showcasing just how much this meant for everyone involved.

A season without European football would have been a disaster for Spurs for several reasons, though that is now a fate that awaits Man United.

The Red Devils will have nothing but a 16th/17th place finish to build on for next season, and what Gray did to their players led to plenty of praise for the teenager.

Via 5 Live, Ian Dennis said: “At the moment, you’ve got every Tottenham player celebrating in front of Tottenham supporters, with the exception of young Archie Gray, who is showing maturity and a great deal of grace beyond his tender years.

“For someone who is only 18 years of age, he is the only white shirt going up to every single Man United player to offer his consoling words. I just think that is a touch of class.”

After what has been a difficult season for all involved, it would have been easy for Gray, especially at his age, to celebrate the win, but for him to show such grace in victory showcases the attitude that has led him to where he is today.

Ange Postecoglou future uncertain after Europa League win

It has seemed fairly nailed on for months now that Ange Postecoglou will be sacked at Tottenham, but that may have just changed after their win in Bilbao.

It’s hard to escape the misery that has ensued in the Premier League, but the criteria for a Spurs manager is to win trophies, and he has done just that.

Whether he remains in North London or not will surely be decided in the next few weeks, ahead of what will be a crucial summer period.
