Ange Postecoglou sack sealed: Levy has perfect Tottenham chance after Mason news

Ange Postecoglou could be packing his bags very shortly at Tottenham.

Spurs crashed to another defeat on Saturday, losing 2-1 against Newcastle after goals from Dominic Solanke, Anthony Gordon and Aleksander Isak.

The Australian is under heavy pressure in North London, with excuses over injuries wearing thin among the fans with little change in tactics.

Ange Postecoglou sack sealed?

Daniel Levy has the perfect chance to pull the trigger now.

With the January transfer window open, Spurs now have 11 days until they travel to Arsenal for a huge game in the Premier League, with the FA Cup in between.

Rotation is always expected in the third round, so a new manager could get the perfect chance to welcome faces back and experiment early on before getting down to business.

Who could that be? Step forward, Ryan Mason.

Levy usually turns to his former player to hold down the ship while looking for a new manager, and he may not be far off doing the same here.

Kat Lucas of The I suggested on 4 January that ‘Mason time’ is close again at Tottenham.

Spurs fans want Postecoglou gone after weeks of excuses and defeats, and it looks as though Levy may be on the same page very soon.

Postecoglou is still in the job, but it only feels like a matter of time until his sacking is signed, sealed and delivered.
